An Afternoon of Chamber Music
On Sunday, Sept. 18, at 3 PM, Music at St. Mark’s presents An Afternoon of Chamber Music, with Larry Stubson, violin, Kimberly Fitch, viola, Thomas Stauffer, cello, and Cynthia Stauffer, piano presenting chamber works by Brahms, Kodaly, and Fauré. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is located at 5th and Oakdale in Medford. The concert is free, doors will open at 2:30, and a reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
Larry Stubson, violin, is a retired strings specialist for the 549C school district. He has been a member of the Rogue Valley Symphony Orchestra and his passion is playing chamber music. Kimberly Fitch received her degrees from the Eastman School of Music and the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is a member of the Cape Cod Ensemble, and she teaches privately. Thomas Stauffer, Professor Emeritus of Music at San Diego State University, is a recitalist, chamber musician and coach. He has taught at Stanford and the UC, Berkeley. He was a member of the Bloch Quartet, in residence at UC, Davis, and was principal cellist of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra. Cynthia Stauffer is an active recitalist and chamber musician, and has been a guest of several orchestras. She graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music. She has taught at various institutions including MIT, University of San Diego and San Diego State University.
