Alice in Wonderland, the happy ballet, and More

        You are invited to join us for a delightful evening of ballet and dance on Saturday, June 19, at 7 pm at South Medford High Auditorium with the Medford Civic Ballet and students of the Dance Arts Academy and guest artists.  The happy version of Alice in Wonderland will present the traditional characters with contemporary and classic ballet choreography for a fast paced entertaining program including the White Rabbit, Bread and Butterflies, Cheshire Cat, March Hare, Dormouse, Queen of Hearts and her cards, Caterpillar and much more clad in special costumes.  Children age 3 and up will perform in excerpts from the Wizard of Oz including Dorothy, Toto, Glenda the Good, Tinman, Lion, Scarecrow, Mayor and lots of Munchkins dancing and singing.  After intermission, The Best of Broadway, Jazz, HipHop, Lyric, Irish and Tap will show the work of seven choreographers.  This performance will make you smile and make you want to get up and dance.  Mary Cowden Snyder, Artistic Director, says:  We are delighted with the fabulous talent we have to share in this program.  Dancers range in age from 3 to 53 and from pre-professional to beginners and all are helping to make this family friendly performance one of our best ever.  Ticket sales contribute to our scholarship program.  Advance tickets are available at the Dance Arts Center in our dance and action wear store at 9 Hawthorne Street between East Main and Jackson in Medford, Oregon.  Tickets will also be available at the door.
