Medford’s strategic location between Seattle and San Francisco enhanced the rapid development of the Rogue Valley’s aviation history. Eugene Ely, the first man to land on a naval vessel, Lindbergh’s 1928 landing, the service and creation in 1934 of United Airlines were all milestones in Rogue Valley aviation history. The documentary is based on an article by William Alley, Society Archivist/Historian. The program includes original historic film footage and still photography.
