Celebrate California’s state parks and the importance of their preservation for future generations. The first episode, "The History of California State Parks," recalls the dramatic history and scenic beauty of California’s state parks, the largest and most diverse collection of state parks in the nation. Episode two, "Parks for the Future," places the future of the parks in the context of trends that will soon threaten parks everywhere. Population growth, decline of native plants and animals, loss of open space and climate change all pose serious challenges to the integrity of parks, now and in the future.
