When Governor Mitt Romney prioritized defunding “Big Bird” and PBS to reduce the federal deficit during the first presidential debate, Big Bird became one of the most trafficked Twitter subjects, reaching 17,000 tweets per minute.

U.S. Bancorp Foundation recently awarded a $3,000 Cultural and Artistic Enrichment Grant to Southern Oregon Public Television for the fourth consecutive year.

Starting this month, we have completed our transition to a unified public broadcasting schedule throughout Oregon. Working with Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB), we began to make changes to our schedule back in May.

Once again national research has confirmed that PBS is the most trusted institution, and federal support of public television is considered an “excellent” use of tax dollars — for the ninth consecutive year.
