Public Invited to Attend Free Screening of THE MODOC WAR

SOPTV is proud to announce a special pre-broadcast screening of OREGON EXPERIENCE: The Modoc War. OPB and the Klamath County Museum are co-presenters of this special pre-screening event on Thursday, October 27 at 7 p.m. at the Ross Ragland Theater and Cultural Center, 218 North 7th Street in Klamath Falls. A panel discussion will follow. The screening is free and open to the public. Please join SOPTV at the event to celebrate this production about our local area.

Country Music Show Postponed

COUNTRY MUSIC IN PERFORMANCE AT THE WHITE HOUSE, originally scheduled for October 16 at 8 p.m., has been postponed due to scheduling complications that arose unexpectedly. The producers of the program are seeking to find an alternate taping date at the White House for this much anticipated concert event and hope to still air the show sometime this fall.

Digital Conversion of Remote Translator Sites

During the summer months of 2011, SOPTV will be working on completing its transition to digital transmission. This will manifest itself with the conversion of our TV translator systems to digital. Viewers will need to have DTV sets or DTV set top boxes for older analog TV sets to continue to receive SOPTV in these areas.

On Tuesday night, November 2, 2010, PBS NEWSHOUR will offer special midterm election coverage. In a one-hour special live at 8:00pm just as polls are closing on the West Coast, PBS NEWSHOUR SPECIAL REPORT: ELECTION NIGHT 2010 will provide current returns and analysis on a night that promises a great deal of political drama in House, Senate, and Gubernatorial races.
