What is the Community Advisory Board?

The Community Advisory Board reviews the programming goals established by the station, the programming services, and any significant programming policies. This committee then advises the Southern Oregon Public Television Board of Directors with respect to whether the programming and other policies of the station are meeting the specialized educational and cultural needs of the community.

Why do we need a Community Advisory Board?

Southern Oregon Public Television is committed to the community we serve; however, we do not operate under the assumption that we alone know what is best for that community. Without the input and involvement of the community, we could never adequately serve its needs. The Community Advisory Board keeps us advised of how well we’re doing.

What is involved in being a member of the Community Advisory Board?

The Community Advisory Board meets two times a year for about 4 hours each time. Other duties may include additional viewing of videotape material for further discussion. The term of service is for three years.
