Participants will be introduced to new and innovative book structures – the nested accordion and the scrolling codex, (both designs developed by Peter and Donna Thomas) and students will also learn the basic bookbinding skills needed to create them.

Materials will be provided but students may want to bring special paper and their own tools. Optional materials list provided upon registration.

Advanced students will have time to put text in their books and will want to come prepared with a short 4 – 10 word quote to work with.

ALSO! Don’t miss – Peter and Donna’s marvelous handmade gypsy wagon which will be parked in front of Ashland Art Center all day Sunday!

Peter and Donna are authors, illustrators and in 2010 and 2011 they are wandering book artists, traveling around the country, teaching and creating.
