A Gathering on Peace and Forgiveness

A cross-cultural, inter-tribal event led by Indigenous Grandmother Agnes Baker-Pilgrim. Three indigenous leaders come together to share their stories on peace and forgiveness. This is an opportunity to learn from their wisdom, how they are sharing peace in their communities and with the world.

Keynote speaker Grandmother Agnes Baker-Pilgrim

Takelma, enrolled member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz, Chair of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers. A world renown “Voice for the Voiceless”. She is honored as a “living legend”, for restoring the Sacred Salmon Ceremony and speaking out for the protection and sacredness of the worldwide waters.

Takashi “Thomas” Tanemori

Takashi is a Hiroshima Survivor, son of a noble Samurai family, and the author of “The Bridge to Forgiveness”, his moving autobiography. He is currently writing his second book, “The Urban Samurai”. Takashi founded the Silkworm Peace Institute. He marches and speaks-out for peace all over the world.

Flavio Santi

Flavio’s community, the Amazanga, are forest protectors, teachers and healers of Quichua and Shuar decent. They are stewards of indigenous earth wisdom and, through rainforest conservation, work toward the protection of indigenous traditions in Ecuador. They have recently founded a natural medicine school, the School of Guayusa, to help ensure the sharing and passing down of healing traditions.
