Good Grief: Support program for children and families
Good Grief is a six-week, family-based support group for children who have experienced the death of someone important in ther lives. Parents learn new ways to support their grieving children and themselves. The program is offered at no charge, as a community service of Lovejoy Hospice.
Lovejoy staff and volunteers guide the children in groups from preschool through high school in creative and engaging activities related to grieving.
Topics include: understanding grief; preserving memories; handling difficult emotions like regret, guilt, and anger; coping with fear and anxiety; creating rituals to remember loved ones; taking care of ourselves; moving into the future.
Space is limited and pre-registration is necessary. To download a registration form go to www.lovejoyhospice.org and click on “Children’s Bereavement.” At the bottom of the page is a link to download the registration form. Registration forms are also available at our office, 939 SE 8th Street, Grants Pass. Please return completed forms by October 3 in person, by mail, or fax to (541) 474-3035.
