IMMACULEE: Hold Onto Hope
Wednesday, September 16 at 9:30 p.m.
Immaculee Ilibagiza survived the 1994 Rwandan genocide — which left a million people dead, including her parents — by hiding in a tiny bathroom with seven other women for 91 days. She tells her story of survival and forgiveness in this program, which features highlights from her speech at the Magnolia Performing Arts Pavilion on the Baton Rouge Community College campus. Ilibagiza is the author of two books, Left to Tell and Led by Faith: Rising From the Ashes of the Rwandan Genocide. Both books explain how she has found the strength to overcome the tragedy and forgive the people who perpetrated it.
