Explore the problems being experienced by southern Oregon counties as a result of the expiration of federal timber payments. Investigative reporter Amelia Templeton (SOPTV — EARTHFIX) will reveal her intrepid and inquisitive nature as she moderates a live panel discussion between timber, government, and environmental interests in front of a live studio audience.

This year, Oregon counties will have received their final payment under the expiring Secure Rural Schools Act. As a result, local schools and county roads will have lost their funding. Timber receipts could make up some of the loss. LOCAL FOCUS will ask policy makers, biologists, and land managers the question, "Should logging increase on public forests?"
