Thursday, September 4 at 8 p.m. — SPECIAL TIME!

The popular long-running crime series MIDSOMER MURDERS is back for a new season. Based on the novels of Caroline Graham, the program boasts a lush visual style, quirky characters, ubiquitous red herrings, and a rural countryside reminiscent of classic public television British mysteries of the past. Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby, played by actor John Nettles (Bergerac), is the series star. Barnaby’s long-time sidekick, Sgt. Troy (Daniel Casey), departs in Series VII, making room for Sgt. Dan Scott, played by John Hopkins.

In the episode “Sauce for the Goose,” at the general meeting of Plummer & Son Famous Relish, Ralph Plummer angers his family members by refusing to sell the floundering business. Then the factory tour comes to an unscheduled end when a visitor’s naked body is discovered in the sterilizer.
