This 12-hour, six-part documentary series showing nightly at 8 p.m., directed by Burns and co-produced with his longtime colleague, Dayton Duncan, who also wrote the script, is the story of an idea as uniquely American as the Declaration of Independence and just as radical: that the most special places in the nation should be preserved, not for royalty or the rich, but for everyone. As such, it follows in the tradition of Burns’s exploration of other American inventions, such as baseball and jazz.

  1. Your broadcast of the National Parks program was constantly breaking up. It was not our satellite because all other stations were being received without a problem

  2. After anticipating the series on the national parks for several months imagine my dismay and disappointment when the digital signal did not work. I'm very disappointed in SOPTV.

  3. Yes had the same problem with the Sunday 8PM broadcast of the National Park. Like it was a buffer over run and a bandwith problem. Sure hope it is corrected for the rest on the broadcast. Did try to watch between the delays and what we saw was very interesting

  4. Actually, it was your satellite. Our chief engineer worked with the direct broadcast service provider to help them resolve the problem. If you didn't stick with the program, I certainly don't blame you, but the problem was corrected about 9:15 p.m.

We are pleased to provide a rebroadcast the first episode of this exceptional documentary on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 9:00 a.m. We hope you'll be able to tune in.
