The Quality of Mercy is Not Strained…Or Is It?

The character of Shylock revealed in a mere 360 lines of menacing eloquence informs the Merchant of Venice, Shakespeare’s controversial, equivocal comedy. On Wednesday, April 14, Suzanne Witucki presents “The Quality of Mercy is Not Strained…Or Is It?,” in which she examines what the play reveals about beliefs concerning racial, national, sexual and religious differences of others.
