They have won several chamber music competitions and were awarded first prize in the Premier Ancona Music Festival in Ancona, Italy. The Quartet consists of Federico Mondelci on soprano saxophone, Marco Gerboni on alto sax, Mario Marzi on tenor sax and Massimo Mazzoni on baritone sax. The Italian Saxophone Quartet has performed extensively throughout the world, presenting over 1,000 concerts in such countries as Italy, USA, Japan, Greece, Germany, France, Russia, Lebanon and Sweden. Along with its performances in the major concert halls, the Quartet has also been heard over the radio and has made three recordings, including a CD devoted to contemporary music on the Pentaphon label.
