Appearing with local carver, Russell Beebe, who created the We Are Here statute in downtown Ashland, and Takelma Elder, Agnes Baker Pilgrim, Ann Linnea will present a slide show about her new book, Keepers of the Trees, a Guide to Re-Greening North America, at the Ashland Art Center, 357 East Main St. at 5:30 p.m. on July 27. Both Russell Beebe and Agnes Baker Pilgrim are featured in the book which focuses on the stories of fourteen people across North America whose stories illuminate our connection to trees. Some of the photographs in the book have been donated by local photographer Jim Young. Books will be for sale as a fundraiser for the local non-profit, Sanctuary One at Double Oak Farm, which is dedicated to rescuing domesticated animals, facilitating health and wellness for people, and promoting environmental stewardship.
