Recollects a friend calling to tell her the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. Janet and her family hiked to the mountaintop behind their home and watched the Japanese planes coming in over their heads. A local school was hit by a bomb. The military commandeered the schools for the purpose of fingerprinting residents of Hawaii. She now lives in Ashland with her husband, loves to travel, and is planning their 5th world tour.
