STUDENT SHOWCASE: Wesley Davis
Woodworker (Ashland High School)
Bowl Turning
Wesley started taking a class of carpentry skills in his freshman year, the fall of 2006. His teacher, Mr. Weston, introduced him to some beginning wood-turning principles and he instantly took a liking to turning and really enjoyed the immediate results. Hands-on learning fits his learning style, so he enrolled in an advanced woodworking class in the fall of 2007. Wesley enjoys the creative opportunities of wood-turning and particularly enjoys seeing a rough piece of lumber become a finished piece of artwork.
