Swing and Ballroom Dance Music with the B Sharps

Come enjoy a night of Swing and Ballroom dance music with the B Sharps on Saturday, August 13th at Ocean Crest Elementary School in Bandon located between 10th and 11th Streets on Highway 101.

The B-Sharps make their Bandon debut playing exciting swing, Latin and standards, intermingled with recorded music for an evening of couples dancing on a large dance floor.

It all starts a 7:00 p.m., with an East Coast Swing lesson from Maria Merriam of MarLo Dance Studio. The lesson will be geared for beginning dancers who want to get their first taste of couples dancing. There will be plenty of experienced dancers on hand to help new dancers get into the spirit of things so they can hop, swing and sway to the B Sharps, dancing the Great American Folk Dance of the modern era—Swing.

Then the B-Sharps take over with their live sounds until 10:00.

This dance is sponsored by the Bandon Oregon Ballroom Dance Association (BOBDA). BOBDA is a non-profit ballroom dance club promoting ballroom dance opportunities across the Southern Oregon Coast. This event is alcohol free.

The evening is $7.00 for the public and $4.00 for students—but if you join BOBDA that night simply by leaving your e-mail address the cost is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. Who is a student? Anyone who declares themselves to be a student.

Dance is a healthy, low cost activity that can enrich the lives of the young and the not-so-young. Join us for a great evening of live music and dance and learn about the myriad of ballroom dance opportunities up and down the Oregon Coast.
