Local venue to celebrate international 24-Hour Comics Day
Get out your coffee: Local artists who want to test their creativity and push their artistic limits are invited to Iguana Comics in Grants Pass for this year’s 24-Hour Comics Day. The day of extreme cartooning allows 24 straight hours for amateur and professional cartoonists of any age to challenge themselves to write, draw and letter an entire 24-page comic in 24 hours. This year’s 24-Hour Comics Day starts at 9am on Oct. 1.
Good Grief: Support program for children and families
Good Grief , a free, 6-week, family-based support group for children who have experienced the death of someone important in ther lives, meets from 6 to 7:30 pm Thursdays, beginning October 13, at Lovejoy Hospice in Grants Pass. Information available at (541) 474-1193 or lovejoyhospice.org.
Lovejoy Hospice Volunteer Training
Lovejoy Hospice holds its volunteer training from 8 am to 5 pm Monday and Tuesday, October 3-4, at 939 SE 8th Street, Grants Pass. Volunteers offer friendship and support to patients and their families, animal-assisted therapy, bereavement support and clerical help in the office.
