Veterans Day Concert

All are invited to a free Veterans Day concert by the Southern Oregon Concert Band with Southern Oregon Repertory Singers and Swing Kings Big Band on Wednesday, November 11 beginning at 6:30 PM at Medford Armory, 1701 S. Pacific Hwy. The concert honors veterans and their families from all branches of Armed Forces with a special tribute to the Oregon National Guard.

Pre-concert entertainment begins at 6:30 PM as the audience is invited to sing and dance to music of the Swing Kings with chanteuse Diane Hedges performing swinging Big Band era tunes. At 7:30, the Concert Band and Repertory Singers perform a selection of patriotic tunes and audience favorites, beginning with Aaron Copland’s Fanfare For The Common Man dedicated to the men and women of the Oregon National Guard, as members of the Guard and Cub Scout Pack 105 advance the colors. Other pieces include Richard Rogers, South Pacific, Carmen Dragon’s arrangements of America The Beautiful and Battle Hymn of The Republic, and much more.
